Are you interested in working or volunteering in schools as a teaching assistant so you can inspire and support children and young people to learn? If so, then this six-week course is an essential starting point for the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools qualification.
This Introduction course is designed to give you an insight into the different roles available in schools, as well as the skills and knowledge you’ll need to achieve your qualification and to take up a career in supporting teaching and learning in schools.

The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is an ideal qualification for anyone wishing to work as a teaching assistant in a school. This course is aimed at those who would like to take up their first role in a school, as well as those already employed, but who do not yet have a qualification in supporting teaching and learning.
This qualification covers a range of essential skills and knowledge required to work effectively in a support role and to understand your role and responsibilities, such as child and young person development, safeguarding, communication, equality and diversity and supporting learning activities.
To enable you to demonstrate your learning you must be spend a minimum of ten hours per week in school, either in a paid or volunteer capacity.

Would you like more knowledge and understanding of mental health? Whether you work within the voluntary or community sector, have an interest in gaining further awareness of the subject or want another qualification to add to your CV, then this course could be for you.
On this course, we will tackle the negative attitudes that surround mental health and separate the myths from the facts. We will discuss ways to support people to talk about their mental health and what steps we can take to help them open up to friends, family, or colleagues.
You will develop your knowledge of the rights of those with mental health issues, enabling you to challenge negative attitudes and offer positive support and advice.

Learners will explore how to recognise the signs and symptoms of stress and discover practical strategies to prevent or reduce it. The course supports personal development and emotional resilience, helping individuals to manage stress more effectively in everyday life. It is suitable for anyone looking to improve their mental wellbeing, increase self-awareness, or support others. Learners will gain valuable knowledge and tools that can be applied at home, in the workplace, or in further learning.

Would you like to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of mental health issues? Employers – in particular those in the health and social care sector – are increasingly interested in their staff having a sound understanding of a range of mental health problems, so having a qualification in mental health can be a good way to boost your CV.
You'll learn about what is meant by mental health as a general term, then you’ll discover more about specific mental health conditions, and how you can better work or interact with people with those conditions.

Whether you work within the voluntary or community sector, wish to progress into employment in education or health and social care settings, have an interest in gaining further awareness of the subject or want another qualification to add to your CV then this course could be for you
On this course you will be equipped with a detailed understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Studying via distance learning means you can choose when and where you study. We ensure you get all the support you need throughout your course in the form of a personal Tutor and a Learner Support Advisor. To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve 5 mandatory units.

If you’d like to pursue a career in team leading or would like to progress within your current employment, then this Level 2 course will provide you with knowledge and understanding of a range of team leading principles, and you’ll also gain a qualification to add to your CV.
On this course, you’ll learn about different kinds of business structures in the public, private, and voluntary sectors, and the range and purpose of leadership opportunities that are available within these. You’ll learn what team leading is and what it involves, from managing a team’s workload to motivating team members, as well understanding how different types of leadership can impact a team’s performance. You’ll also learn about different kinds of verbal and written communication methods in the workplace, from preparing for and participating in meetings, to ensuring accuracy in documentation and how communication varies depending on the audience. You’ll also learn about a range of wider team leadership topics.
Upon completion of the course, you’ll have an understanding of a range of principles of team leading that will prepare you for employment or progression in this area.
