Level 2 Awareness of Bullying in Children and Young people

  • We know that bullying affects children and young people across many settings - at school, in childcare, local communities and online. It is reported that 40% of all young people aged 11 to 16 now experience bullying, with 6% said to experience bullying daily.

This course will provide you with the skills needed to help identify, and then address, bullying among children and young people.

  • This free eLearning course will provide you with an understanding of the principles of bullying, how to identify bullying in children, the factors that can create a ‘bully’, and how you can support young people who are experiencing bullying.

  • You will learn about:

    • The principles of bullying

    • How to recognise bullying in children and young people

    • The action to be taken when a child and young person is being bullied

    • Government guidelines for bullying.

  • You will speak to one of our Personal Advisors prior to enrolling on the course, where you’ll be able to receive information, advice and guidance related to your course; they’ll also discuss your learning goals with you and answer any questions you may have.

In order to join this eLearning course you will need:

    • A reliable internet connection and a computer, laptop or tablet

    • A notepad and pen, or a word-processing application (such as Microsoft Word) for making notes

    • A suitable place to study that is free from any distractions

    • Access to the East Riding eLearn platform; we will send joining instructions to you once you have enrolled.

  • You will study completely online and work at your own pace, benefiting from access to online content, including resources such as interactive case studies, videos and study notes.

You will be allocated an assessor who will keep in touch with you to review your work and offer any guidance you may need. You will also agree a planned completion date with your assessor. Typically we would allow 24 calendar weeks for completion of the course.

I wish I’d done something like this 30 years ago. I’d have been able to enjoy taking a lot more photographs for a lot longer.

Susan, Self-esteem and Confidence Building

I’ve come out in myself, being here and meeting new people. It’s helped take me out of my little comfort zone. Doing my course is making me feel better in myself.

Shirley, a bit of everything

It’s not just a warm space. It’s the camaraderie and the friendships. Since I’ve come here I’m a better person, my family has noticed a huge change in me. I love it, it’s wonderful. In fact, I even book my holidays around my courses.
